START HERE · BOOKSTAGE GUIDE

Make Bookstage yours in an afternoon.

Every page is built with native Framer pages, components, CMS and forms. Follow these ten steps to add your books, switch launch stages and publish an author website readers remember.

STEP 01

Choose your homepage

Bookstage includes three homepage layouts that all read from the same Books CMS: Home (author homepage with a featured release above the bookshelf), Single Book (a focused launch page for one title) and Modern Author (crisp, confident styling for nonfiction, business books and speakers).

In the Pages panel, right-click the layout you want and choose Set as Home Page. Keep the others as landing pages or delete them.

STEP 02

Add your books and covers

Open CMS → Books, duplicate an item or add a new one. Add the Title, Subtitle, Author, Cover, Summary, Synopsis, Formats, Page Count, Publisher, Genre and Publication Date. To replace a cover, click the Cover field and upload your own image.

Every book card, homepage feature, press-kit fact sheet and book page updates automatically.

Covers look best as 2:3 portrait images, ideally 1200 × 1800 px.

STEP 03

Set each launch status

Every book has a Launch Status option. Coming Soon puts release-update signup first. Preorder Open turns every purchase button into a preorder button. Available Now leads with buying options.

Change the status, press Publish, and the homepage, book cards and book pages all follow.

STEP 04

Feature your headline release

Switch on Featured for the book you want in the homepage spotlight, the Single Book page, the first-chapter preview and the press-kit fact sheet. Keep one featured book at a time.

STEP 05

Add retailer links

Paste your store or retailer links into Bookshop Purchase Link and Kobo Purchase Link on each book. Rename the button labels on the Book page to any retailer you like, or point both fields to your own direct-sales shop.

Leave a link empty and its button hides automatically.

STEP 06

Share the first chapter

Add an excerpt to Chapter Excerpt and a title to Chapter Heading. Leave Chapter Excerpt empty and the reading section disappears cleanly. Add an Endorsement only when you have a quote you’re allowed to share — it stays hidden until you do.

STEP 07

Connect your forms

The reader club, launch team, contact and homepage signup forms are native Framer forms. Select a form, open Send To in the right panel and choose where submissions go — your email, a webhook or a newsletter tool. Each form shows the Thank You page after a successful submission.

STEP 08

Organise series and reading order

Edit the Series option field to add your own series names and use Reading Order to number them. The bookshelf search, series filter and book pages update instantly.

STEP 09

Make the look yours

Colours and text styles live in the Assets panel. Change Burgundy, Paper and Ink once and the whole Literary direction follows. The Modern Author page has its own Modern colours and text styles.

Replace the illustrations with your own author photography — 4:5 portraits work beautifully.

STEP 10

Publish with confidence

Update the site title, description and social image in Site Settings, review each page’s SEO title, connect your domain, and hide the Bookstage preview bar by turning off Show demo bar on the Author site layout.

Delete the See your book here page before launch — it exists to preview your own cover.

Your next book deserves a website readers remember.

Add your first book, choose its launch stage and press Publish. Bookstage takes care of the rest.
