Privacy policy

Last updated October 2026. Plain-English answers to what happens when you visit, sign up or get in touch.

Who we are

This website belongs to Elena Vale, author of the Rowan Bay novels. When this policy says “we”, it means Elena and the small team who help with publicity and events. You can reach us at any time through the contact page.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to share: your name and email address when you join the reader club, the details you add when you request an advance copy, and the message and contact details you send through the contact form.

Like most websites, our hosting provider also records basic technical information — such as browser type and pages visited — to keep the site secure and understand which pages readers enjoy.

How we use it

Reader club details are used to send occasional letters about new books, early chapters and events. Launch team requests help us decide where advance copies can go. Contact messages are used to reply to you. We never sell your information, and we only share it with services that help us run the site and send email.

Newsletters and choices

Every reader letter includes an unsubscribe link, and one click is all it takes. You can also ask us to update or remove your details at any time.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses a minimal set of cookies and privacy-friendly analytics to measure visits and keep forms working. Retailer links take you to independent shops, which have their own privacy policies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you. Send a note through the contact page and we will help.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the new version will appear here with a fresh date at the top of the page.
