ABOUT ELENA
Stories about the places that keep calling us back.
Elena Vale writes literary fiction about coastlines, chosen family and the quiet courage it takes to return. Her Rowan Bay novels follow one small harbour town through its seasons of change — one house, one friendship, one unfinished letter at a time.

THE STORY SO FAR
A writing life, one coastline at a time.
Elena grew up between a cathedral city and the North Sea, collecting bus tickets, overheard sentences and the names of boats. She trained as a bookseller before she trained as a writer, and still believes the best recommendations happen across a counter.
Rowan Bay began as a single image: a house with every window open, waiting for someone to come home. It grew into a series about inheritance, ordinary bravery and the communities that hold us when we are not sure we belong.
Today Elena writes from a small room above a harbour, teaches workshops on beginnings and answers every reader letter — eventually.
